Sorghum Cereal Recipe: A Healthy Breakfast

Sorghum Cereal – A Delicious Healthy Way To Start Your Day!
You can prepare a fast and easy vegan, gluten free, and packed with antioxidants breakfast within mere minutes. Here is the recipe we use for our sorghum cereal.
Ingredients for 1 Serving
- 1/3 cup sorghum cereal
- 1 cup water
- dash of sea salt
- chopped apple or any fruit
- handful of nuts, sunflower seed, or flax seeds
- honey or maple syrup if desired.
Instructions
Bring water with a pinch of salt to a boil and then whisk in cereal sorghum. Simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cover pan with lid, let it steep for 3- 5 minutes. Stir and serve.
You can eat it “dry” or add some milk or any other milk substitute to your liking.
For this breakfast I added apples, raisins and a few pecans. I like to mix sorghum and fruit. The starch in sorghum is so low the food-combining works. Being low-starch and high protein also makes this wonder-grain a low-carb food. It is also a slow digester with a low glycaemic index – great for diabetic diets. Enjoy! I have also found the sorghum cereal is great in granola.
